Artist's Viewfinder is a valuable tool for filmmakers and still photographers, aiding in the exploration of various locations and angles to find the perfect camera placement and composition. By digitally simulating camera and lens combinations, it allows users to visualize their shots without the need to physically set up the camera. Additionally, it serves as a helpful tool for developing one's photographic eye.

Designed with familiar functionalities, such as exposure compensation, auto-focus lock, AF confirmation beep, a Quick Control Screen, Smart Function Keys, and the ability to release the shutter using the Volume buttons, the Mark II ensures users feel right at home when using it. Furthermore, its capability to capture high-resolution photos makes it versatile enough to function as a regular camera.

When paired with a 0.5x-class super-wide converter lens*, the Mark II becomes an indispensable tool for landscape and architecture photographers. This combination effectively simulates super-wide lenses, offering a field of view similar to that of a 16mm lens on a full-frame 35mm format. It can also be used to create super-wide stitched images. Additionally, the Mark II is equipped with real-time distortion correction for wide converter lenses.

In black & white mode, Artist's Viewfinder displays only the luminance information of a scene, facilitating the exploration of tonal structures and allowing users to simulate the appearance of black & white photographs. The optional dark and neutral toolbar theme further ensures that app colors do not interfere with composition.

The Mark II offers unparalleled simulation flexibility by utilizing an extensive Viewfinder Camera Database. This database includes over 800 still and motion picture cameras, 180 medium/large format backs, and numerous lenses from renowned brands like ALPA, Hartblei, Hasselblad, Leica, Rodenstock, Schneider, and Zeiss. Users also have the ability to define their own custom cameras and lenses for unique photography requirements.

One of the standout features of Artist's Viewfinder is its capability to store location and simulation metadata with the captured images. This allows users to evaluate and review location scouting results on their computers at a later time. Additionally, the app records a standard GPX format track log, eliminating the need for a separate logging device. This information can be easily shared with the rest of the crew or sent to a rental house directly from the application.
